107. Vassūpanāyikānujānanā

184. Tena samayena buddho bhagavā rājagahe viharati veḷuvane kalandakanivāpe. Tena kho pana samayena bhagavatā bhikkhūnaṃ vassāvāso apaññatto hoti. Teidha bhikkhū hemantampi gimhampi vassampi cārikaṃ caranti. Manussā ujjhāyanti khiyyanti vipācenti – ‘‘kathañhi nāma samaṇā sakyaputtiyā hemantampi gimhampi vassampi cārikaṃ carissanti, haritāni tiṇāni sammaddantā, ekindriyaṃ jīvaṃ viheṭhentā, bahū khuddake pāṇe saṅghātaṃ āpādentā. Ime hi nāma aññatitthiyā durakkhātadhammā vassāvāsaṃ allīyissanti saṅkasāyissanti. Ime hi nāma sakuntakā rukkhaggesu kulāvakāni karitvā vassāvāsaṃ allīyissanti saṅkasāyissanti [saṅkāsayissanti (sī. syā.)]. Ime pana samaṇā sakyaputtiyā hemantampi gimhampi vassampi cārikaṃ caranti, haritāni tiṇāni sammaddantā, ekindriyaṃ jīvaṃ viheṭhentā, bahū khuddake pāṇe saṅghātaṃ āpādentā’’ti. Assosuṃ kho bhikkhū tesaṃ manussānaṃ ujjhāyantānaṃ khiyyantānaṃ vipācentānaṃ. Atha kho te bhikkhū bhagavato etamatthaṃ ārocesuṃ. Atha kho bhagavā etasmiṃ nidāne etasmiṃ pakaraṇe dhammiṃ kathaṃ katvā bhikkhū āmantesi – ‘‘anujānāmi, bhikkhave, vassaṃ upagantu’’nti. Atha kho bhikkhūnaṃ etadahosi – ‘‘kadā nu kho vassaṃ upagantabba’’nti? Bhagavato etamatthaṃ ārocesuṃ. Anujānāmi, bhikkhave, vassāne vassaṃ upagantunti.

Atha kho bhikkhūnaṃ etadahosi – ‘‘kati nu kho vassūpanāyikā’’ti? Bhagavato etamatthaṃ

Ārocesuṃ. Dvemā, bhikkhave, vassūpanāyikā – purimikā, pacchimikā. Aparajjugatāya āsāḷhiyā purimikā upagantabbā, māsagatāya āsāḷhiyā pacchimikā upagantabbā – imā kho, bhikkhave, dve vassūpanāyikāti.

Yo pakkameyya, āpatti dukkaṭassā’’ti.

186. Tena kho pana samayena chabbaggiyā bhikkhū na icchanti vassaṃ upagantuṃ. Bhagavato etamatthaṃ ārocesuṃ. Na, bhikkhave, vassaṃ na upagantabbaṃ. Yo na upagaccheyya, āpatti dukkaṭassāti.

Tena kho pana samayena chabbaggiyā bhikkhū tadahu vassūpanāyikāya vassaṃ anupagantukāmā sañcicca āvāsaṃ atikkamanti. Bhagavato etamatthaṃ ārocesuṃ. Na, bhikkhave, tadahu vassūpanāyikāya vassaṃ anupagantukāmena sañcicca āvāso atikkamitabbo. Yo atikkameyya, āpatti dukkaṭassāti.

Tena kho pana samayena rājā māgadho seniyo bimbisāro vassaṃ ukkaḍḍhitukāmo

Bhikkhūnaṃ santike dūtaṃ pāhesi – yadi panāyyā āgame juṇhe vassaṃ upagaccheyyunti. Bhagavato etamatthaṃ ārocesuṃ. Anujānāmi, bhikkhave, rājūnaṃ anuvattitunti.

那时,佛陀世尊住在王舍城(现在的拉杰吉尔)竹林栗鼠feeding ground。当时,世尊还没有为比丘们规定雨季安居。那些比丘们在冬季、夏季和雨季都在游行。人们抱怨、批评、传播说:"为什么释迦子沙门们在冬季、夏季和雨季都要游行,踩踏青草,伤害单根生命,杀害许多小生命?那些外道虽然教义不善,但在雨季会安居、停留。那些鸟儿在树梢筑巢,也会在雨季安居、停留。但这些释迦子沙门在冬季、夏季和雨季都在游行,踩踏青草,伤害单根生命,杀害许多小生命。"比丘们听到了那些人的抱怨、批评和传播。然后那些比丘们把这件事告诉了世尊。于是世尊以此因缘、以此场合说了法,然后对比丘们说:"比丘们,我允许你们进行雨季安居。"然后比丘们想:"什么时候应该进行雨季安居呢?"他们把这件事告诉了世尊。"比丘们,我允许在雨季进行雨季安居。"
然后比丘们想:"雨季安居有几种呢?"他们把这件事告诉了世尊。"比丘们,有两种雨季安居:前安居和后安居。前安居应该在阿沙荼月(约6-7月)过后的第二天开始,后安居应该在阿沙荼月过后一个月开始。比丘们,这就是两种雨季安居。"
允许雨季安居结束。

当时,六群比丘不愿意进行雨季安居。他们把这件事告诉了世尊。"比丘们,不可以不进行雨季安居。不进行者,犯突吉罗罪。"
当时,六群比丘在雨季安居当天不想进行安居,故意越过住处。他们把这件事告诉了世尊。"比丘们,在雨季安居当天不想进行安居时,不应该故意越过住处。违者犯突吉罗罪。"
当时,摩揭陀国王频婆娑罗想要延迟雨季安居,派使者到比丘们那里说:"如果尊者们能在下个月圆日进行雨季安居就好了。"他们把这件事告诉了世尊。"比丘们,我允许你们顺从国王。"
禁止雨季游行等结束。
允许七日事

Tatra sudaṃ bhagavā sāvatthiyaṃ viharati jetavane anāthapiṇḍikassa ārāme. Tena kho pana samayena kosalesu janapade udenena upāsakena saṅghaṃ uddissa vihāro kārāpito hoti. So bhikkhūnaṃ santike dūtaṃ pāhesi – ‘‘āgacchantu bhadantā, icchāmi dānañca dātuṃ, dhammañca sotuṃ, bhikkhū ca passitu’’nti. Bhikkhū evamāhaṃsu – ‘‘bhagavatā, āvuso, paññattaṃ ‘na vassaṃ upagantvā purimaṃ vā temāsaṃ pacchimaṃ vā temāsaṃ avasitvā cārikā pakkamitabbā’ti. Āgametu udeno upāsako, yāva bhikkhū vassaṃ vasanti. Vassaṃvuṭṭhā āgamissanti. Sace panassa accāyikaṃ karaṇīyaṃ, tattheva āvāsikānaṃ bhikkhūnaṃ santike vihāraṃ patiṭṭhāpetū’’ti. Udeno upāsako ujjhāyati khiyyati vipāceti – ‘‘kathañhi nāma bhadantā mayā pahite na āgacchissanti. Ahañhi dāyako kārako saṅghupaṭṭhāko’’ti. Assosuṃ kho bhikkhū udenassa upāsakassa ujjhāyantassa khiyyantassa vipācentassa. Atha kho te bhikkhū bhagavato etamatthaṃ ārocesuṃ. Atha kho bhagavā etasmiṃ nidāne etasmiṃ pakaraṇe dhammiṃ kathaṃ katvā bhikkhū āmantesi – ‘‘anujānāmi, bhikkhave, sattannaṃ sattāhakaraṇīyena pahite gantuṃ, na tveva appahite. Bhikkhussa, bhikkhuniyā, sikkhamānāya, sāmaṇerassa, sāmaṇeriyā, upāsakassa, upāsikāya – anujānāmi, bhikkhave, imesaṃ sattannaṃ sattāhakaraṇīyena pahite gantuṃ, na tveva appahite. Sattāhaṃ sannivatto kātabbo’’.

Bhikkhū evamāhaṃsu – ‘‘saṅghena kho, āvuso, evarūpā katikā katā ‘antarāvassaṃ na pabbājetabba’nti. Āgamehi, āvuso, yāva bhikkhū vassaṃ vasanti. Vassaṃvuṭṭhā pabbājessantī’’ti. Atha kho te bhikkhū vassaṃvuṭṭhā visākhāya migāramātuyā nattāraṃ etadavocuṃ – ‘‘ehi, dāni, āvuso, pabbajāhī’’ti. So evamāha – ‘‘sacāhaṃ, bhante, pabbajito assaṃ, abhirameyyāmahaṃ [abhirameyyaṃ cāhaṃ (sī.)]. Na dānāhaṃ, bhante, pabbajissāmī’’ti. Visākhā migāramātā ujjhāyati khiyyati vipāceti – ‘‘kathañhi nāma ayyā evarūpaṃ katikaṃ karissanti ‘na antarāvassaṃ pabbājetabba’nti. Kaṃ kālaṃ dhammo na caritabbo’’ti? 119. Tassuddānaṃ

Upagantuṃ kadā ceva, kati antarāvassa ca;

Na icchanti ca sañcicca, ukkaḍḍhituṃ upāsako.

Gilāno mātā ca pitā, bhātā ca atha ñātako;

Bhikkhugatiko vihāro, vāḷā cāpi sarīsapā.

Coro ceva pisācā ca, daḍḍhā tadubhayena ca;

Vūḷhodakena vuṭṭhāsi, bahutarā ca dāyakā.

Lūkhappaṇītasappāya, bhesajjupaṭṭhakena ca;

Itthī vesī kumārī ca, paṇḍako ñātakena ca.

Rājā corā dhuttā nidhi, bhedaaṭṭhavidhena [bhedā aṭṭhavidhena (sī. syā.)] ca;

Vajasatthā ca nāvā ca, susire viṭabhiyā ca.

Ajjhokāse vassāvāso, asenāsanikena ca;

Chavakuṭikā chatte ca, cāṭiyā ca upenti te.

Katikā paṭissuṇitvā, bahiddhā ca uposathā;

Purimikā pacchimikā, yathāñāyena yojaye.

Akaraṇī pakkamati, sakaraṇī tatheva ca;

Dvīhatīhā ca puna ca [dvīhatīhaṃ vasitvāna (sī.)], sattāhakaraṇīyena ca.

Sattāhanāgatā ceva, āgaccheyya na eyya vā;

Vatthuddāne antarikā, tantimaggaṃ nisāmayeti.

Imamhi khandhake vatthūni dvepaṇṇāsa.

Vassūpanāyikakkhandhako niṭṭhito.
